Uzbek president congratulates Brazilian president with Independence Day

Uzbek President Islam Karimov congratulated Brazilian President Dilma Vana Rousseff on its national Independence Day, the presidential press service reported.
In his message, President Karimov expressed his confidence that a progressive broadening of mutually beneficial relations in a harmonious way, with the aim of peaceful relations between the Uzbek and Brazilian peoples, addresses the fundamental interests of both countries; such relations ensure the security and strengthening of international cooperation.
According to the Uzbek Foreign Ministry, bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and South American countries have intensified noticeably. President Islam Karimov's first official visit to Brazil in May 2009 has become an important event, as the talks and signed bilateral documents are evidence to the seriousness between the two countries' intentions to develop multilevel and mutually beneficial cooperation, along with a willingness to actually transfer bilateral relations to a long-term partnership level.
