Pensioners in Uzbekistan should periodically confirm their pension right

Uzbekistan, Tashkent, Sept. 27 /Trend, D.Azizov/

In Uzbekistan, the pensioners receiving pension through bank branches have been committed to every six months confirm their right to receive pension, submitting an application to the department of the Pension Fund (PF). This requirement arises from the Cabinet of Ministers' order on approval of regulations aimed at further improving the procedure for assigning and payment of state pensions. The document has been published in the electronic mass media.

According to the order, if a pensioner fails to submit an application, the employees of PF will within 10 days arrive at pensioner's residence to clarify living, employment, change of residence or travel abroad, stay in prisons, or living in boarding houses for the elderly and disabled.

In case of confirmation of pensioner's right to receive a pension, its payment shall be extended for the next six months.

If pensioner's right is not confirmed, the pension shall be suspended under the act, which will be drawn up by the employees of the Fund with the participation of the self-government authority and neighbors, and shall be the basis to make a decision to suspend (terminate) payments or change the amount of pensions.

According to the data provided by the Ministry of Macroeconomics and Statistics of the Republic, now the number of pensioners on age totals about three million people, or about 10 percent of the population. PF expenses on pensions for age make up more than seven percent of GDP.
