A delegation headed by Bulgarian Economy, Energy and Tourism Minister Traicho Traikov has ended a working visit to Uzbekistan.

Traikov held meetings with Uzbek Economy Minister Galina Saidova and Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade Minister Ravshan Gulyamov.

These meetings discussed bilateral trade and economic relations, trade turnover and its structure, as well as investment issues.

According to the Bulgarian minister, Uzbekistan is a platform for sending Bulgarian products and services to Central Asian markets.

"Bulgarian firms have a strong position and competitiveness in the production of machinery and equipment, foodstuffs, construction, transport and logistics, in production of textiles and medicines, wines and perfumes," Traikov said.

The bilateral meetings focused on tourism. In particular, the sides discussed the possibility of opening a charter flight between Uzbekistan and Bulgaria, and facilitating the visa regime for tourists.

Traikov discussed interaction of Bulgaria and Uzbekistan in the tourism sphere.

Talks were also held with Uzbekneftegaz Board Chairman Shokir Fayzullayev.

The members of the Bulgarian delegation also became acquainted with Uzbek history and culture, as well as the sights of Tashkent and Samarkand.
