Uzbekistan, Vietnam discuss bilateral relations

Uzbek President Islam Karimov has today received the Prime Minister of Vietnam Nguyen Tan Dung, Uzbekistan's national news agency (UzA) reported.

Welcoming the guest Karimov said that despite the geographical distance Uzbekistan focuses on expansion of comprehensive and long-term cooperation with Vietnam as one of the fastest growing countries in Southeast Asia.

The Vietnamese Prime Minister's first visit to Uzbekistan is considered as an important event in relations between the two countries, above all, in terms of enhancing trade and economic relations and creating a good framework for their long-term development.

The sides discussed a wide range of issues of mutual interest during detailed and frank exchanges of views, UzA reported.

The meeting stressed that the sides have all the possibilities and conditions to achieve a common goal - the dynamic increase of mutual trade and investment cooperation.

Uzbekistan and Vietnam have positive experience on mutual support in the international arena, there is coincidence and similarity of positions and approaches of the countries on key regional and international issues.
