Uzbekistan dismisses commander of border troops

Commander of Border Troops of the National Security Service of Uzbekistan, Major General Ruslan Mirzayev has been dismissed by President Karimov's decision, a source in the government told Trend on Wednesday.
According to the source, the decision to dismiss Mirzayev from this post was taken last week and is not associated with shootout on the Uzbek-Kyrgyz border, which occurred on July 17.
Colonel Rustam Eminzhanov has been appointed as commander of border troops in the status of deputy chairman of the National Security Service. He is a member of the Council of Commanders of Border Troops of the CIS.
