Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulaziz Kamilov and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia Grigoriy Karasin discussed international issues on Tuesday, press service of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry reported.
The evening before, Karasin arrived in Tashkent to take part in the next round of Uzbek-Russian interministerial political consultations.
During the talks at the Foreign Ministry, the sides exchanged views on topical issues of bilateral relations, including those within the framework of multilateral organizations.
The most attention was paid to the process of practical implementation of the agreements reached during the official visit of the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov to Russia in April 2013.
The sides noted that the further development of multidimensional and mutually beneficial Uzbek-Russian dialogue in accordance with the Tashkent Declaration on deepening strategic partnership signed by the Heads of State in June 2012 meet the long-term interests of both countries.
The talks were attended by the Ambassador of Russia to Uzbekistan Vladimir Tyurdenev.
The previous round of the consultations the foreign ministers of Russia and Uzbekistan was held in September 2012 in Moscow.
