Relations between Uzbekistan and China are growing day by day. Business cooperation is being actively developed, Chinese Ambassador to Uzbekistan Zhang Xiao said at a press briefing on Thursday.

Relations between Uzbekistan and China are growing day by day. Business cooperation is being actively developed, Chinese Ambassador to Uzbekistan Zhang Xiao said at a press briefing on Thursday.

"At present, cooperation between the two countries is characterized by a high level of political trust, the dynamic development of trade and economic relations, as well as effective interaction in the international arena," he said.

According to the head of the Chinese diplomatic mission, besides increasing bilateral trade turnover, the trade structure is being optimized.

As an example, Zhang Xiao cited the commissioning of an UZTE brand production line at "PENGZHONG XINGSHENG" joint venture producing mobile phones and other electronic devices in Syrdarya.

The ambassador stressed that Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi's forthcoming visit is very important amid a rapidly the changing situation in the region and the dynamic development of bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and China.

It should be stressed that Chinese Foreign Minister's forthcoming official visit to Uzbekistan at the invitation of his Uzbek counterpart Abdulaziz Kamilov is planned for after the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of SCO member states, to be held in Bishkek on July 13.

According to the State Statistics Committee, the Uzbek-Chinese bilateral trade in 2012 increased by 19.7 percent - up to $3.233 billion. Around 411 enterprises with Chinese capital operate in Uzbekistan.
