Measures on expanding labor migration cooperation with South Korea approved in Uzbekistan

The External Labor Migration Agency under the Uzbek Ministry of Labor and Social Protection has been named an authorized body for sending Uzbek citizens to South Korea, an order of Uzbek President Islam Karimov said.

According to an order on "Measures on the further expansion of cooperation in the field of labor migration with the Republic of Korea", the local regional administrations, relevant ministries and agencies were instructed to assist the agency in organizing testing systems on employment and evaluation skills.

Testing will be conducted in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding on sending employees to Korea signed between the Uzbek Ministry of Labor and Social Protection and the Korean Ministry of Employment and Labour in December 2012.

According to the document, the funds made by Uzbek citizens for participation in testing are the income of the Korean Human Resources Development Service and are not subject to taxation in Uzbekistan.

The Uzbek President exempted test materials brought for testing from customs duties (excluding charges for customs clearance).

The Uzbek Foreign Ministry was instructed with issuing entry visas to employees of the Korean Ministry of Employment and Labor and Human Resources Development Service, involved in the implementation of the memorandum without consular and other fees.
