Chinese president Xi Jinping will visit Uzbekistan for the first time in the first half of September, Chinese ambassador Zhang Xiao told journalists.
According to the diplomat, the visit of Chinese president at the invitation of Uzbek president will a response to the last year's visit of Islam Karimov to Beijing and will play a significant role for development of strategic partnership between the countries.
As it was reported, during the last visit of Uzbek president to China (June 5-6, 2012) the heads of the two states signed a declaration on establishing strategic partnership.
The ambassador believes that the upcoming visit of Chinese president to Tashkent will contribute to the development of strategic partnership at a ten-year perspective.
Currently, China is the largest investor and the second largest trade partner of Uzbekistan in terms of volume.
As of 2012, the volume of bilateral Uzbek-Chinese commodity turnover increased by 1.2 times - to $2.875 billion.
