Uzbekistan and Lithuania discussed the current status and prospects for bilateral cooperation, said the Uzbek parliament’s lower house.

The discussions were held by a delegation of Lithuania’s parliament, led by head of the Group for Interparliamentary Relations with Uzbekistan Valerijus Simulik, and deputy speaker of the legislative chamber of Uzbek parliament Sarvar Otamuratov.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on cooperation between the higher legislative bodies of Uzbekistan and Lithuania.

They emphasized the necessity for further expanding the interparliamentary cooperation and intensifying the exchange of experience in lawmaking.

Simulik noted that the Group of Lithuanian Seimas (parliament) for Interparliamentary Relations with Uzbekistan plays a great role in further expanding the relations between the two countries.

The Lithuanian delegation also held talks with the leadership of Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations.

During the talks, the parties discussed the prospects for cooperation in trade, economy and investments, transportation and logistics.
