Tashkent, Uzbekistan, Dec. 13
By Demir Azizov – Trend:
The Senate, upper house of the Uzbek Parliament, has approved employment program for 2017, Trend’s correspondent reported from the Senate meeting.
The program envisages implementing measures to provide employment of the Uzbek population, including through the creation of small industrial zones, identifying unused and unfinished production facilities, unused land plots and their subsequent transfer to entrepreneurs, as well as through the allocation of micro-credits to organize private businesses.
In 2017 it is planned to attract unemployed people to paid public works, especially in the construction of facilities of transport, roadside and social infrastructure, as well as the construction of housing in rural areas.
Implementation of the program in 2017 in Uzbekistan will make it possible to provide employment of mainly graduates of colleges and universities, as well as to maintain the unemployment rate at 5-6 percent.
The employment program for 2017, approved by the senators, will be sent for approval to the Uzbek president.
