UNESCO launches heritage conservation project in Uzbekistan’s Bukhara

United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has launched the implementation of a cultural heritage preservation project in Uzbekistan’s Bukhara city.
The project is aimed at protecting the historic center of Bukhara. Another purpose of the project is the preservation of the musical heritage of the region, UNESCO Office said.
The project is being implemented in cooperation with the Uzbek Ministry of Culture and the Main Scientific-Production Department on Protection and Use of Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture, as well as international and national experts.
The training for restoration and preservation of historical buildings are planned to be carried out as part of the project.
