Central Bank of Uzbekistan to join Alliance for Financial Inclusion

The Board of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan has adopted a decision on joining an international organization, the Alliance for Financial Inclusion.

Membership in the Alliance for Financial Inclusion will provide the Central Bank with an opportunity to study international experience and attract leading experts to develop national programs for improvement of the availability of banking services and financial literacy, as well as for protection of the rights of consumers of banking services.

Currently, 104 institutions from 91 developing countries of the world (central banks, financial regulators, associations) are members of the AFI. The headquarters of AFI is situated in Kuala Lumpur city (Malaysia).

The Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI) was established in 2008 in order to assist member countries in the development and implementation of financial inclusion policies through the creation of a platform for the exchange of experiences, training and organization of working groups on topical issues of banking services, protection of consumers and financing of small businesses.
