Representatives of Uzbekistan's Oztemiryolkonteyner JSC held a meeting with Vyacheslav Novikov, the head of Latvian company SIA SV Gulbis, at the Uzbekistan Railways.

The parties discussed the construction of a modern transport and logistics center through direct investments, Trend reports via Uzbek media.

A total area of 16 hectares was allocated for the construction of the new center, of which 20,000 square meters are to be used for a container terminal. The project envisages the creation of a closed storage area of 25,000 square meters, including 14,000 square meters for certain types of products, as well as the introduction of an automated warehouse management system.

The new logistics center will receive up to 3 million tons of cargo per year; therefore, 350 new jobs will be created. The commissioning of the new facility is scheduled for the end of current year.

As a result of negotiations, a memorandum was signed on the further development of mutually beneficial relations between Oztemiryolkonteyner JSC and SIA SV Gulbis.
