The number of VAT payers in Uzbekistan has increased from 7,000 to 35,000 since the beginning of the year, Trend reports via the Uzbek media.
Deputy Chairman of the State Tax Committee Mubin Mirzayev, at a meeting of the International Press Club, stated that the number of VAT payers in Uzbekistan since the beginning of the year has increased fivefold and amounted to almost 35,000.
Many amendments and additions to the tax legislation of Uzbekistan entered into force in 2019, including the simplified procedure for calculating and paying VAT for certain categories of taxpayers.
"If we had 7,000 VAT payers at the beginning of the year, now their number is 35,000, although we initially predicted 17,000."
"More than 6,000 of them are individual entrepreneurs, while almost 29,000 are legal entities," Mirzayev added.
