The Tashkent plant of agricultural machinery, together with CNH Industrial American company, has mastered the production of the TZST CE-220 cotton picker-transformer, Trend reports citing UzA.uz information agency.

While the previous generation machines were used exclusively during the cotton-picking season, the TZST CE-220 transformers can be involved in field work all year round, from sowing cotton seeds to harvesting.

Uzavtosanoat company that controls automotive manufacturing plants, auto localization and auto parts companies, has developed a strategy and a number of programs to optimize production and corporate management at the Tashkent Agricultural Machinery Plant.

About 200 automotive specialists were sent to the enterprise in order to implement these plans. A number of information systems, management systems, accounting and quality control systems have been introduced within the framework of the adopted programs.

Over the past two months, the production volume has increased from five units of equipment per day to 40 units. As a result of the ongoing work to improve production, it is planned to increase production capacity by 80 percent.

“The new generation machines will be fitted with a special hopper during the cotton-picking season, which is removed after harvesting, and the machine turns into a universal arable tractor. The machine is capable of picking an average of 20 tons of cotton per day,” Chief Technologist Murod Ergashev said.

“Taking into account the high demand of the agricultural sector for cotton harvesting equipment, the implementation of this project will serve to ensure the economic growth of Uzbekistan, as well as eliminate the use of manual work during the season,” the chief added.

“Our plant is the only enterprise for the production of agricultural machinery not only in Uzbekistan, but throughout Central Asia,” said the head of the investment and localization department of the Tashkent Factory of Agricultural Machinery Mirzaali Sheraliyev.

“The new project was implemented jointly with the CNHI RND Design Technology Center on the basis of a new generation of New Holland TD5 110 tractors. In 2018, we fully purchased the license for the production of this model. That is, we mastered production at home. Now we have started to produce cotton-pickers under our own brand,” Sheraliyev said.
