From January through September Uzbekistan exported 26.3 tons of honey worth $41,800, Trend report with reference to the State Statistics Committee reports.
Compared to the same reported period in 2019, the export of honey from Uzbekistan increased by 20.3 tons (4.4 times).
In the same period of 2019, the export of Uzbek honey amounted to only six tons, that is, almost four and a half times less. The proceeds from the export of Uzbek honey this year amounted to $41,800.
According to the State Statistics Committee, the main recipients of Uzbek honey were the United States, which received 11.2 tons, and Korea, which imported 10 tons of honey. Almost all the rest of the honey sold by Uzbekistan to foreign markets went to the Arabian Peninsula - to the United Arab Emirates (3.1 tons) and Kuwait (2 tons).
Among the regions of Uzbekistan, Tashkent has become the undisputed leader in honey export. Some 21.2 tons of honey were sent abroad from Tashkent. It is followed by the Jizzakh and Samarkand regions, which supplied 3.1 and 2 tons of honey, respectively. Namangan region closes the four main suppliers - 0.1 ton.
