Volume of market services in Uzbekistan up for 9M2020

The volume of market services provided in Uzbekistan from January through September 2020 reached 157 trillion soums ($15.1 billion), and the nominal volume increased by 16.1 trillion soums ($1.55 billion), Trend reports citing State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

In comparison, the growth rate of market services provided in Uzbekistan for the same period last year amounted to 1.8 percent.

Compared to January 2020, the volume of market services provided in September (discrete month) of the current year increased by 5.8 trillion soums ($559 million) and reached 22.1 trillion soums ($2.13 billion).

At the end of the third discrete quarter of 2020, the volume of services provided amounted to 56.4 trillion soums ($5.44 billion), and compared to the third discrete quarter of 2019 (51.5 trillion soums ($4.96 billion)), the volume increased by 4.9 trillion soums ($472 million).

In the structure of provided market services by type of economic activity, trade services account for the largest share. So, from January through September 2020, their share was accounting for 26.3 percent.

At the same time, high rates were noted for transport services (24.5 percent), financial services (21.5 percent), and communication and information services (six percent).

A slight increase in volumes was noted in the healthcare sector, the share of services that reached only 1.4 percent. Also, a low share was recorded in the provision of services for the repair of computers and household goods amounting to 1.5 percent.

A significant decrease in the volume of market services provided was noted in the sphere of accommodation and food services (by 16.6 percent).

In addition, a decrease was recorded in healthcare services (by 13.8 percent), transport services (by nine percent), in the field of architecture, engineering surveys, technical testing, and analysis (by 7.7 percent), services related to real estate (by 7.6 percent), rent and rental service (by 5.3 percent), as well as in the field of education (by 3.7 percent).

Despite a significant reduction in the volume of market services provided in the transport sector, their share in the total volume of services remains predominant - 24.5 percent.
