In 2020, Jizzax Organic will import Holstein Friesian cows from Europe, capable of producing up to 30 liters of milk per day, Trend reports referring to uzdaily.uz.

The cluster will become the first producer of A2 milk in Uzbekistan, which is characterized by high digestibility and a reduced risk of allergic reactions. The target milk production capacity is 35,000 tons of milk per year.

The construction of a dairy farm is 30 percent completed. The volume of investments as of October 31, 2020, amounts to $12.5 million. Investments will increase to $53 million by the end of 2022.

The dairy farm was designed by the Italian Rota Guido Srl. The complex includes a dairy block, a cowshed, calves, calving boxes, quarantine zones, feed storages, walking areas, and a complex for separating manure into bedding for animals.

In addition, the barn is equipped with fodder stands, heated drinkers with artesian water supply, a climate control system, curtains for protection from climatic conditions, and an automatic manure removal system.

“A comfortable microclimate is essential for ruminants. It has been scientifically proven that cows sleep less and produce more milk when properly cared for. The optimal daylight hours are 16 hours. In winter, the required level of illumination will be created using innovative lighting devices. Also, it is necessary to maintain a certain temperature regime in the room for a good appetite, since cold and heat lead to a decrease in milk yield. Barn temperatures should not drop below 10 °C or rise above 32 °C,” head breeder at Jizzax Organic Rodney J. Guilford said.
