Uzbek cement plant increases its net profit

The income of the Kyzylkumcement cement plant operating in Uzbekistan increased by 32 percent and amounted to 2.2 trillion soums ($209 million) by the end of 2020, Trend reports referring to the Unified Corporate Information Portal.

According to the information, the cost of goods sold by the plant last year reached 1.2 trillion soums ($114 million), increasing by 20.5 percent, while the plant's net profit increased 2.14 times and reached 590 billion soums ($56 million).

At the same time, the total capital of the plant increased by 26 percent and reached 2.04 trillion soums ($194 million). In addition, the total liabilities of Kyzylkumcement plant have almost doubled to 140.8 billion soums ($13.4 million).

It was reported that the net profit of Kyzylkumcement JSC increased for 6M2020 compared to the same period last year in US dollar terms by 70.9 percent and reached $20.3 million.

The main raw material base of Kyzylkumcement JSC contains industrial reserves of 113.8 million tons of limestone and 96.8 million tons of shale at the Navoi field, 30.2 million tons of diabase-pyroxenite at the Tillatyag field, 6.04 million tons of gypsum at the Karnabskoye field.

The Navoi Cement Plant was founded in 1977 and reorganized into Kyzylkumcement JSC in 1994. Kyzylkumcement JSC is the largest cement enterprise in Uzbekistan (total capacity is 3.5 million tons of cement annually).

Currently, six large and 19 smaller cement enterprises with a total capacity of 11.1 million tons operate in the country.
