Uzbekistan and Tajikistan discussed topical issues of development of the Uzbek-Tajik strategic partnership, Trend reports with reference to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.
On February 18, 2021, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov, who arrived in Dushanbe on a working visit, was received by the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.
It is noted that the Minister conveyed the message of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.
During the conversation, topical issues of the development of Uzbek-Tajik relations of friendship, good-neighborliness, and strategic partnership, as well as practical aspects of the implementation of agreements reached during high-level visits were considered.
In addition, the parties paid particular attention to the prospects for interstate cooperation in Central Asia. Thus, the opportunities for expanding the export of goods, establishing new transport corridors, and developing regional markets were substantively discussed.
Earlier Abdulaziz Kamilov was received by the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
Also, on February 17, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, who arrived in Ashgabat on a working visit, was received by the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow.
