Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK), the Russian Export Center (REC) and one of the largest oil and gas contractors in Uzbekistan, ENTER Engineering, signed a memorandum on scientific, technical and investment cooperation to modernize the gas transmission system (GTS) of Uzbekistan, Trend reports citing the TMK.
The volume of investments within the framework of cooperation projects may exceed $180 million, the press service of TMK said.
“The memorandum assumes the search for joint areas of activity within the framework of the program for the modernization of the Uzbek GTS. The cooperation is meant to meet the needs of the country's market for steel pipes, to promote the development of new types of pipe products, optimal supply schemes and effective financial and investment solutions to achieve common goals,” the company said.
“TMK has been cooperating with Uzbekistan for 17 years and is one of the main suppliers of pipe products for a number of sectors of the country's economy. The company considers the Uzbek market as promising, since in the coming years the country plans to implement large-scale projects for the construction and reconstruction of sections of main gas pipelines within the framework of the approved concept for the development of the gas transmission system. I am confident that the signed memorandum will strengthen partnerships, meet the needs of companies in Uzbekistan for high-tech pipe products and expand TMK's presence in this market,” noted TMK Sales Director Denis Prikhodko.
