Uzbekistan, Latvia agree to make joint efforts for developing mutual co-op

First Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Farhod Arziev held an online meeting with the Under Secretary of State, Political Director of the Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Janis Mazeiks on April 9, 2021, Trend reports citing the Uzbek media.

In the outset of the meeting, the politicians considered promising aspects of expanding mutually beneficial cooperation in such areas as trade, economy, investment, transport and logistics.

The officials also discussed issues on attracting leading Latvian companies to the implementation of joint projects in Uzbekistan, said the Uzbek MFA.

In the course of the meeting, the parties especially emphasized a detailed analysis of certain aspects of bilateral cooperation within the UN, OSCE, EU and other international and regional associations.

Mutual interest in developing a dialogue between the parliaments of states, as well as expanding partnerships in the tourism, cultural, humanitarian, scientific and healthcare fields, was also discussed during the meeting.

At the end of the meeting, the parties confirmed their readiness to progressively strengthen the Uzbek-Latvian cooperation, fill it with practical content, and also considered a number of common events planned to be held in 2021.
