Uzbekistan, Germany discuss issues of co-op on transport sector

The ministries of transport of Uzbekistan and Germany held a meeting dedicated to the development of mutually beneficial constructive relations between the two countries in the transport sector, Trend reports citing the Uzbek media.

The online meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan Abdusamat Muminov, acting Deputy Chairman of the Board of Uzbekiston Temir Yullari JSC (Uzbekistan Railways) Khayitbay Omonov, as well as representatives of the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure of Germany, representatives of the embassies of the two countries and other officials of the ministries of transport of Uzbekistan and Germany.

The parties especially noted the active joint work carried out in the development of the transport sector of Uzbekistan. Thanks to the strategic partnership of the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan, Uzbekiston Temir Yullari JSC and the German Deutsche Bahn AG railway concern.

“In order to fulfill the instructions of the country's leadership, a joint working group of specialists from the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan, Uzbekiston Temir Yullari JSC and the consulting division of Deutsche Bahn AG prepared a draft resolution of the president of Uzbekistan ‘On structural reforms in the field of railway transport of Uzbekistan", Muminov said.

“Currently, it is planned to expand joint work with German specialists to implement the prepared recommendations. By implementing solutions in the field of digitalization, the efficiency of business processes will be increased and the creation of a compliance control system in the railway sector of Uzbekistan based on the experience of Germany will reduce the influence of the human factor on decision-making,” Muminov added.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to further expand joint work with the aim of further deepening mutually beneficial cooperation in the transport and logistics sector.
