Russian Microgen Scientific and Production Association for Immunological Preparations increased the export of medicines to Uzbekistan in 1Q2021 more than half in comparison with the same period last year, Trend reports citing Russian media.
According to the information, about 500,000 packages of drugs were exported to Uzbekistan. The pharmacological group of bacteriophages, registered in 2019 in the territory of Uzbekistan, became the key driver of the sale. Their share amounted to about 40 percent of the total sales volume. The biggest demand came to Sekstafag, which was delivered to Uzbekistan in 2018.
It was noted that sales of Sekstafag in the country in 1Q2021 exceeded 60 percent of the annual sales of the drug in 2020. Sekstaphag has a broad spectrum of antimicrobial activity and is aimed at the treatment and prevention of purulent-inflammatory and enteral diseases caused by staphylococci, streptococci, proteases, kinegnoilamoi and klebsiellami.
In addition, wholesale deliveries of Intesti and Staphylococcal bacteriophage were organized for the first time in Uzbekistan.
General Director of Nacimbio, Managing Director of Mikrogena, Andrey Zagorsky said that during the current period, Mikrogen has shipped to Uzbekistan about 40 orders of drugs, including such pharmacological drugs as pharmacopeia drugs, ganglia groups therapies of socially significant diseases.
In addition to bacteriophages, in 2021 in Uzbekistan for the first time imported a wholesale consignment of Russian botulinum toxin type A, as well as renewed supplies of allergens used for the treatment and prevention of allergic diseases.
Microgen, the research and production unit, was formed in May 2003 as a result of the merger of state-owned enterprises producing medical immunobiological drugs and other drugs. The company produces more than 70 percent of the total volume of Russian immunobiological products, including two of the four vaccines against the A / H1N1 virus (swine flu).
