Uzbekistan plans to expand the list of labeled goods adding to the list medicines and medical supplies, water and soft drinks, household appliances, Trend reports referring State Tax Committee of Uzbekistan.

The State Tax Committee of Uzbekistan held the next stage of negotiations on the further implementation of digital marking with experts from the Russian "Center for the Development of Advanced Technologies" (CDAT), heads of departments and specialists of the State Tax Committee, as well as representatives of alcohol, tobacco and beer products of Uzbekistan.

According to the information, the phased process of mandatory labeling of certain types of products in Uzbekistan is carried out on the basis of a public-private partnership agreement between Russian CDAT, CRPT TURON and Uzbek State Tax Committee.

The labeling of tobacco and alcoholic products in Uzbekistan has been jointly launched since January 1, 2021, and beer products have been labeled since April 1. It is noted that Uzbekistan is the first and so far the only country in the CIS to introduce mandatory beer labeling. In the future, it is envisaged to expand the list of labeled goods - medicines and medical supplies, water and soft drinks, household appliances.

Director-General of CDAT and Trade Center of Russia Andrei Kirillov said that Russian technologies are actively used in Uzbekistan, noting that some of the Russian technologies, developed directly in Uzbekistan, on the contrary, will soon be used in Russia, in particular, when starting the labeling of dairy products.

It is reported that the transition to digital labeling will create an ‘electronic duplicate’ of the country's economic life. And with the help of the National Information System ‘Asl belgisi’ and ‘Tax Partner’ system it will be possible to form public control over counterfeit and illegal products. So, each consumer will have access to reliable information about the product: its authenticity, shelf life, availability of certificates of conformity.

In addition, the state will have effective working tools to combat the production and import of illegal (counterfeit and contraband) products and violation of pricing rules, as well as accounting and control over the conformity of manufactured and imported products.

"Together, these measures will significantly increase the volume of taxes and other obligatory payments to the State budget by reducing the shadow market," the message said.
