The largest volume of cherries exported from Uzbekistan from January through May 2021 fell on Kazakhstan, amounting to 13,800 tons, Trend reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.
According to the State Statistics Committee, during the reporting Uzbekistan exported 27,600 tons of cherries in the amount of $43.4 million, which is 4,300 tons more than in the same period in 2020.
It is reported that Uzbekistan in 5M2021 exported cherries to 14 foreign countries.
In particular, the first in the list of importers of Uzbek cherries is Kazakhstan, which in 5M2021 imported 13,800 tons. It is followed by Russia – 8,600 tons, Kyrgyzstan – 4,700 tons, Ukraine – 212 tons, Belarus – 142 tons and Poland – 67 tons.
Earlier, it was reported that the rate of decline in the export of fruit and vegetable products in Uzbekistan from January through May 2021 compared to the same period in 2020 amounted to 4.3 percent.
According to the committee, the volume of exports of fruit and vegetables in 5M2021 amounted to 526,900 tons, while in value terms it exceeded $291.6 million.
In particular, over five months, 419,800 tons of vegetables were exported for $172.5 million, as well as 70,200 tons of fruits and berries for $80 million.
It was reported that the share of fruit and vegetables in total exports during the reporting period amounted to 5.1 percent.
In addition, it was noted that the main export markets for Uzbek fruit and vegetable products are in Kazakhstan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan and China.
