Uzbekistan’s postal service eyes increasing volume of sent small parcels

About 30 tons of small parcels with a volume of up to two kilograms were sent abroad through the post of Uzbekistan, Trend reports referring to Uzbek media.

According to preliminary estimates, this indicator will grow by 20 percent this year, while earlier the increase was on average 10 percent annually.

Finance Director of Uzbekistan’s Postal Service JSC Rustam Dadamukhamedov, the company is interested in the development of e-commerce, which will help increase supplies abroad.

“The post office has an extensive network, which consists of 2,000 objects in all settlements of Uzbekistan, and any entrepreneur can send his goods at the nearest office according to the orders received. Exporters, according to the presidential decree, can also count on subsidies when sent by mail in the amount of up to 50 percent of the delivery cost,” Dadamukhamedov said.

Also, the general director of ZoodMall electronic trading platform Askarbek Alshanbayev said that now exporters of Uzbekistan can offer their goods through such platforms.

ZoodMall operates in seven countries of the Middle East and CIS. In addition to Uzbekistan, these are Kazakhstan, Iraq, Lebanon, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Jordan. The trading platform has more than seven million users in these countries, and some brands of Uzbekistan are already selling their goods through this service.
