By Fakhri Vakilov – Trend:

The first batch of the Russian COVID-19 Sputnik-V vaccine has been produced in Uzbekistan, Trend reports citing Uzbekistan’s Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry.

"The first batch of locally produced Sputnik-V vaccine in the amount of 130,000 doses was handed over to the Service of Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health of Uzbekistan," the agency said.

Moreover, all these vaccines will be used exclusively in Uzbekistan. However, so far there is no information on when the vaccines will arrive at the vaccination centers.

The vaccine was produced at the facilities of Jurabek Laboratories in Almalyk city of Tashkent region. Currently, the facilities of the enterprise allow bottling up to 10 million doses of various vaccines every month.

The production of Sputnik V vaccines depends on the volume of raw materials supplied by the Russian side. However, Jurabek Laboratories is building a special laboratory so next year they will have a full production cycle for this vaccine.
