Toyota expresses readiness to co-op with Uzbek company

Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Japan Mukhsinkhuja Abdurakhmonov held the talks with general manager of Middle East and Central Asia division at the Japanese Toyota Motor Corporation Akitoshi Takemura and general manager of the car sales and marketing division at the Sumitomo Corporation Shinsuke Fujimota, Trend reports with reference to Uzbekistan’s Dunyo news agency.

The ambassador informed about the growing interest of domestic buyers in electric vehicles and the steps which are taken in this sphere to create the appropriate infrastructure in the country.

The special attention was paid to the ongoing program for the transition to "green energy" and the country's prospects to produce electric vehicles in Uzbekistan.

Moreover, representatives of Toyota were offered to expand the activity in the Uzbek market by creating the appropriate infrastructure for the maintenance of the corporation's existing cars in Uzbekistan, as well as the facilities for the production of cars, including electric vehicles, in the future.

Toyota Motor Corporation expressed readiness to establish cooperation with Uzbekistan’s Uzavtosanoat JSC.

Following the talks, an agreement was reached to continue to discuss the issues of bilateral cooperation to make the mutually acceptable proposals.
