Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan sign investment and commercial contracts

Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, signed 54 investment and commercial contracts worth $611.3 million, Trend reports via press service of the Kazakhstan PM.

The contacts were signed within the framework of the 3rd Forum of Interregional Cooperation of two countries, held on November 26, 2021 in Kazakh city of Turkestan.

The documents are aimed at developing cooperation in the fields of mechanical engineering, the agricultural and industrial sectors, production of building materials, electrical products, medical products, infrastructure development, etc.

The volume of bilateral trade between two of the countries in 9 months of 2021 exceeded $2.9 billion, which is 28.5 percent more than in the same period in 2020.

By the end of 2021, Uzbekistan may become one of the five largest trade partners of Kazakhstan. The parties set the goal to bring the volume of mutual trade to $5 billion in 2022 and to $10 billion over 5 years.
