Uzbekistan becomes world leader in sale of gold in for November 2021

Uzbekistan became the world leader in the sale of gold in November 2021, Trend reports via World Gold Council.

According to the council, the country has sold 21.5 tons of gold during the month, being followed by Turkey (7 tons), Russia (3.1 tons) and Kyrgyzstan (1.4 tons).

Kazakhstan (4.3 tons), Poland (3.4 tons), India (2.8 tons) became the leaders in terms of purchasing gold.

According to the council, at the end of last year, world gold and foreign exchange reserves fell by 21.5 tons.

Uzbekistan ranks among the top 10 countries in the world for gold mining. The country mined 94.6 tons of gold in 2019, and 101.6 tons in 2020.

From 2010 to 2020 the country exported 687 tons of gold.

The largest mining enterprise in Uzbekistan, specializing in the extraction and processing of gold, is the Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Combine. Its production volume is about 80 tons of gold per year.
