Uzbek Central Bank notes growth in volume of loans issued to individuals

The volume of loans issued to individuals in Uzbekistan in 2021, increased by 26.6 percent compared to 2020 (54.8 trillion soums, or $5 billion), reaching 69.4 trillion soums ($6.4 billion), Trend reports citing the Uzbek Central Bank.

From total volume of loans issued to individuals in the corresponding period, mortgage loans accounted for 35.9 trillion soums ($3.3 billion), microloans accounted for 9.4 trillion soums ($871.4 million), consumer loans accounted for 12.7 trillion soums ($1.1 billion).

At the same time, the volume of loans issued to legal entities increased in 2021 by 15.6 percent compared to 2020 (222 trillion soums, or $20.5 billion) reaching 256.8 trillion soums ($23.7 billion).

During this period, the total volume of loans issued in Uzbekistan amounted to 326.3 trillion soums ($30.1 billion), increasing by 17.5 percent compared to 2020 (276.9 trillion soums or $25.5 billion).
