More than 60 million rubles ($554,798) were bought in banks in Uzbekistan on March 3, 2022,Trend reports via the Uzbek Central Bank (CBU).
According to the CBU’s data, the citizens of Uzbekistan sold 5.4 million rubles ($49,931) to the banks.
On March 3 this year, the citizens bought $26.3 million and sold $27.9 million to the banks.
In euros, these figures were 118,000 and 68,000, respectively.
In Uzbekistan, banks were advised not to stop exchanging rubles so that the difference between the buying and selling rates remained “acceptable”. Some economists described this decision as “shifting all the risks in rubles onto soums”.
