Uzbekistan imported 31,700 tons of meat from 8 countries in 2021, Trend reports via Uzbek State Statistics Committee.
During this period, meat imports increased by 10,100 tons compared to 2020.

Previously, Uzbekistan has extended VAT exemption for the import of meat until April 30, 2022. In 2021, the legislative chamber of Uzbekistan adopted a bill for the import and sale of meat products to the country to be exempt from VAT until the end of the year.
The main goal of this bill was to reduce the cost of meat products in Uzbekistan.
