BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 6. The total assets of banks in Uzbekistan amounted to 436.8 trillion soums ($38.1 billion) from January through February 2022, which is an increase of 19.3 percent compared to the same period last year (366.1 trillion soums or $31.9 billion), Trend reports via the Uzbek Central Bank.
From January through February 2022, state-owned banks’ assets accounted for 356.1 trillion soums ($31 billion), while private banks’ assets accounted for 80.7 trillion soums ($7 billion).
The total liabilities of banks in Uzbekistan during this period also increased by 19 percent, compared to the same period of 2021 (306.6 trillion soums, or $26.7 billion), reaching 365 trillion soums ($31.8 billion).
During this period, the liabilities of state banks amounted to 297.7 trillion soums ($25.9 billion).At the same time, the liabilities of private banks reached 67.3 trillion soums ($5.9 billion).
