BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 23. Uzbekistan put into operation 5 new thermal power plants (TPPs) with a total capacity of 1,100 MW from January through March 2022, Trend reports via the Uzbek Ministry of Energy.
All projects for the construction of TPPs were implemented by Turkish Aksa Enerji, Odaş Enerji CA and Cengiz Enerji companies. Their total cost was $705 million.
The first thermal power plant with a capacity of 270 MW was built in the Bukhara district of the country’s Bukhara region.
The second one- a combined cycle plant with a capacity of 240 MW was put into operation in the Kibrai district of the Tashkent region.
The third thermal power plant with a capacity of 174 MW is located in the Yangiaryk district of the Khorezm region.
A fourth thermal power plant with a capacity of 230 MW was commissioned in the Kibray district of the Tashkent region.
Fifth- a modern thermal power plant with a capacity of 240 MW was put into operation in the Kibray district of the Tashkent region.
These 5 power plants generate in total 9.4 billion kWh of electricity per year.
