BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 22. Uzbekistan is implementing 15 projects worth $2 billion in the chemical industry, Trend reports via the press service of the Uzbek president.
On the basis of large enterprises in the country’s Republic of Karakalpakstan, Fergana, Navoi and Tashkent regions, 4 chemical clusters are being organized with a full production cycle "from raw materials to finished products."
Currently, 14 projects worth $1.8 billion are under implementation, and 29 more projects worth $5.6 billion are planned to be implemented.
As a result of reforms in the chemical industry, the range of products and the profitability of enterprises have increased. For 8 months of the current year, more than 1 million tons of mineral fertilizers were produced. Exports nearly doubled to $330 million.
