BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 23. Uzbekistan will increase oil purchases from Kazakhstan, Trend reports via Uzbek President Administration.
The Presidents of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, who was in Tashkent on a state visit, held talks in narrow and expanded formats on December 22.
During the talks, the parties agreed to increase the supply of Kazakh Oil to Uzbekistan. In this regard, an agreement worth $150 million was concluded on the supply of Kazakh oil and oil products in the amount of 300,000 tons in 2023.
Furthermore, another agreement worth $9 million provides for the transit of 300,000 tons of Russian oil to Uzbekistan through Kazakhstan next year.
Moreover, the presidents discussed issues of expanding relations in politics, trade and economics, transport and logistics, agriculture, and other spheres. They also exchanged views on the regional and international agenda, including ensuring the stable development of Central Asia.
