Uzbekistan plans to purchase oil from Turkmenistan

BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 25. Uzbekistan plans to supply oil from Turkmenistan to the Bukhara Oil Refinery plant, Trend reports via the press service of Uzbekneftegaz JSC.

The matter was discussed at the meeting between the leadership of Uzbekneftegaz JSC with representatives of Turkmenistan’s PETRONAS Charigali.

During the meeting, the parties talked about the prospects of establishing long-term cooperation regarding the import of crude oil to Uzbekistan’s Bukhara Oil Refinery plant.

The sides also emphasized the importance of developing mutually beneficial trade and economic relations, as well as considered the implementation of the agreements reached earlier.

Following the negotiations, the parties reached an agreement on the joint preparation of a program for oil supplies from PETRONAS Charigali (Turkmenistan) to Uzbekistan’s Bukhara Oil Refinery plant in 2023.

PETRONAS Carigali (Turkmenistan) is a subsidiary of the Malaysian oil and gas company Petronas, which realizes oil and gas production on the Turkmen shelf of the Caspian Sea.
