BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 7. Uzbekistan has published data on the volume of cotton yarn in 2022, Trend reports via Uzbekistan’s State Statistics Committee.

According to Uzbekistan’s committee, the country’s largest enterprises produced some 1,857 tons of cotton yarn.

The statistics note that this figure increased by 2.7 times, compared to the reporting period last year.

The source also emphasized that most of the cotton yarn was produced in December 2022, some 670 tons.

Furthermore, cotton yarn took the main share of exported textile products -44.4 percent, followed by finished knitwear and garments (29.2 percent). Uzbekistan exported textile products worth $3.1 billion in 2022. From January through December 2022, more than 552 types of Uzbek textile products were exported to 73 countries of the world.

During the relevant period, most of the Uzbek textile products were exported to Russia ($1.26 billion), followed by Türkiye ($519 million), Kyrgyzstan ($513.4 million), China ($284 million), Iran ($80 million), Poland (78.3 million), Tajikistan ($71.9 million), Kazakhstan ($61.1 million), Belarus ($45 million), Italy ($38.5 million), Ukraine ($38.1 million), Germany ($28.7 million), Azerbaijan ($20.3 million), and Egypt ($19.6 million).
