BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 8. Uzbekistan's Fergana Oil Refinery plans to double the volume of raw materials processing, Trend reports via the company’s press service.

According to the source, Sanoat Energetika Guruhi (Saneg) LLC intensively carries out the modernization process at the Ferghana Oil Refinery Plant (FNPZ). As a result, the oil refinery plant will be able to double the processing of raw materials – up to 2 million tons per year, and the depth of processing of hydrocarbons will increase from 87 percent to 92 percent, by 2024.

As for the modernization project, some 40 percent of new equipment was supplied to the oil refinery. The work on the design and construction of its own steam boiler house with a chemical water treatment plant is also underway. In the nearest future, hydrocracking, hydrogen production, and short-cycle adsorption plants will be built. The construction of a single control point for technological processes of production is also underway.

“An important aspect of the modernization project is to reduce irretrievable losses of hydrocarbons and the renewal of the factory tank farm. In this regard engineering department of the refinery has developed a project for the construction of 36 new reservoirs; currently, the work on their manufacture with the involvement of international experts is underway,” the company noted.

Furthermore, a new gas pipeline with a total length of 12 km will be laid, in order to increase gas supplies to the oil refinery plant.

Earlier in January, Fergana Oil Refinery Plant increased the volume of gasoline and liquefied gas production. The daily volume of production of commercial gasoline of the RON-80 brand will be increased from 850 to 1000 tons, and liquefied gas - from 30 to 50 tons. This work is aimed at meeting the growing needs of the country's population.
