BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 9. The new batch of buses will be supplied to Uzbekistan’s capital Tashkent city, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev said at the meeting dedicated to the development of the capital’s public transport system, Trend reports via the Telegram channel of the president's press secretary.

According to the source, Mirziyoyev emphasized that the work on reducing the level of traffic in Tashkent city is underway, and in this regard, an additional 1,000 buses will be delivered to Tashkent city by April 1, 2023.

Furthermore, the source also said that to reduce road traffic in the capital, will be taken the following measures: will be organized separate lanes for buses on 25 streets; will be installed traffic light management system at 233 intersections for passenger traffic; and also will be created parking places for 10,000 cars on 20 streets.

Uzbek administration aims to improve the functioning of public transport in the capital city. In this regard, in 2022 Uzbekistan has allocated 5 billion Uzbek soums ($445,000) for renovation work of public transport in the city of Tashkent.

Meanwhile, earlier in January, Uzbekistan’s TRUCK AND BUS TRADE GROUP LLC transferred 16 new MAN A22 CNG buses to the Toshshahartranskhizmat JSC authorized passenger transport management authority of Tashkent.
