BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 27. Uzbekistan’s industrial enterprises in January 2023 produced products worth 33.6 trillion soums ($2.9 billion) - an increase of 2.1 percent, compared to the figure for January 2022 (32.9 trillion soums or $2.8 billion), Trend reports via the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

During the first month of 2023, Uzbekistan produced refrigerators (19,800 units), buses (22 units), automobile engines (4,984 units), lead batteries (88,300 units), trucks (138), etc.

In January 2023, Uzbekistan also produced 139,600 tons of gasoline – an increase of 42.7 percent compared to the corresponding period in 2022, 31,500 tons of cotton yarn (a decrease of 31.0 percent),5.5 million liters of beer (a decrease of 23.4 percent) and 116,500 tons of flour from soft wheat and spelled. The figure for flour production has also decreased by 21.4 percent.

Furthermore, during the first month of this year, Uzbekistan faced a decline in gas output. Uzbekistan's enterprises produced 4.3 million cubic meters of gas, which is a decrease of 7.5 percent, compared to the same period in 2022 (4.6 million cubic meters).

The committee notes that the manufacturing of gas condensate in Uzbekistan also declined, and amounted to 109,400 tons – a decrease of 9.1 percent.

Meanwhile, enterprises of Uzbekistan from January through December 2022 manufactured industrial products worth 551.1 trillion soums ($48.4 billion), which is 5.2 percent more than what was produced during the reporting period in 2021.
