BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 28. Uzbekistan has imported 6,700 tons of tea from 23 foreign countries worth $9.8 million from January through February 2023, Trend reports via Uzbekistan’s State Statistics Committee.
According to the committee, Uzbekistan’s volume of tea imports increased by 28.8 percent, compared to the indicators of the first two months of 2022 (5,200 tons).

Furthermore, during the reporting period, Uzbekistan imported from its trade partners goods and services worth $5.7 million – an increase of 25.1 percent, compared to the figure for 2M2022 ($4.6 million). The main share in import structure fell on machinery and transport equipment (41.3 percent), industrial products (14.8 percent), as well as chemical products (13.8 percent).
Meanwhile, Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover from January through February 2023 amounted to $8.9 billion, increasing by 2 percent or $176.4 million, compared to the same period last year ($8.7 billion).
