BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 12. Uzbekistan has exported knitted goods worth $42 million from January through February 2023, Trend reports via the Uzbek State Statistics Committee.
Uzbek statistics say that the country’s exports of knitwear in the reporting period decreased by 7.8 percent, compared to the figure for the first two months in 2022 ($45.6 million).
During the reporting period, the main importers of Uzbek knitted goods were Russia ($19.8 million), followed by Kyrgyzstan ($12 million), Italy ($4.2 million), Belarus ($1.7 million), and Azerbaijan ($1.3 million).
Uzbekistan overall in the reporting period exported 460 types of textile products worth $501.8 million, decreasing by 3.9 percent, compared to the reporting period in 2022 ($522.7 million).
Mostly Uzbekistan exported its textile products to the following countries: Russia ($219.8 million), Kyrgyzstan ($76 million), Türkiye ($72.3 million), China ($53.6 million), Kazakhstan ($12.1 million), Iran ($11.9 million), etc.
In 2022, overall Uzbekistan exported to its trade partners knitted and sewing goods worth $928.2 million, increasing by 43.8 percent, compared to the figure for 2021 ($645.2 million).
At the same time, in 2022 Uzbekistan exported to its trade partners more than 552 types of textile products worth $3.1 billion.
