BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 12. Uzbekistan exported to Türkiye some 2,000 tons of fruit and vegetables worth $2.6 million from January through February 2023, Trend reports citing the Uzbek State Statistics Committee.

The volume of fruit and vegetables exported from Uzbekistan to Türkiye has decreased by 37.5 percent year-on-year (3,200 tons during the same period last year).

Trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Türkiye amounted to $547.7 million from January through February 2023, increasing by 5.7 percent, compared to the same period in 2022 ($518.1 million).

Besides fruit and vegetables, Türkiye imported Uzbek textile products worth $72.3 million.

Meanwhile, during the first two months, Uzbekistan exported 135,600 tons of fruit and vegetables worth $116.4 million to its trade partners, decreasing by 1.2 times or 28,500 tons.

The trade partners of Uzbekistan in the reporting period imported some 17,600 tons of mug beans, 15,500 tons of dried grapes, 15,300 tons of cabbages, 11,100 tons of grapes, 7,600 tons of tomato, 6,200 tons of pomegranate, 4,400 tons of prunes, 3,600 tons of chili pepper, 1,400 tons of peanuts.

The main importers of Uzbek fruit and vegetables, besides Kyrgyzstan, were Kazakhstan (44,800 tons), Russia (29,200 tons), China (19,500 tons), Pakistan (9,200 tons), etc.

In 2022, Uzbekistan exported to Türkiye some 19,000 tons of fruit and vegetables worth $25.5 million.
