BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 21. Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover increased by 11.8 percent during the first quarter of 2023, compared to the same period of last year, from $13.3 billion up to $14.7 billion, Trend reports via Uzbekistan Statistics Committee.
The statistics say that Uzbek exports accounted for $5.6 billion, which is 2.6 percent or $154.8 million less than the same period in 2022 ($5.8 million).
From January through March 2023, Uzbekistan's imports totaled $9.09 billion, increasing by 23.4 percent over the figure for 3M2022 ($7.3 billion).
During the reporting period, the main trade partners of Uzbekistan were: China ($2.3 billion), Russia ($2.2 billion), Kazakhstan ($1.1 billion), Türkiye ($821.4 million), Germany ($674.2 million), South Korea ($604.3 million), Turkmenistan ($263.4 million), Kyrgyzstan ($253.5 million), France ($206.8 million), and Lithuania ($205.2).
In 2022, Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover totaled $50 billion, growing by 18.5 percent or $7.8 billion year-on-year (in 2021 - $42.1 billion). Exports of Uzbekistan in the reporting period amounted to $19.3 billion, while imports were $30.6 billion.
