BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 28. Russian products exported to Uzbekistan do not face any complicated requirements and barriers, a source at the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance of the Russian Federation (Rosselkhoznadzor) told Trend.

According to Rosselkhoznadzor, during the export of agricultural products to Uzbekistan, Russia takes special measures to ensure quality and safety.

“Each of the exported goods is subject to state control by the Rosselkhoznadzor. The products are supplied in accordance with the importing country's veterinary and phytosanitary requirements, as well as requirements in the field of grain quality and safety,” the source says.

Among food products exported to Uzbekistan, Rosselkhoznadzor named the following: beef, poultry offal, ready-made meat, dairy, protein-fat, fish products, large and small cattle, day-old chickens, as well as incubation eggs.

“The exported crops also include potatoes grown in the Novosibirsk, Orenburg, Tula, Belgorod, and Krasnoyarsk regions, and onions from the Astrakhan, Orenburg, Saratov, and Chelyabinsk regions,” the source added.

As for grain products, Russia exports cake, flour, and legume to Uzbekistan.

Meanwhile, the Uzbek State Statistics Committee said that Russia topped the list of main importers of fruit and vegetables from Uzbekistan in the first quarter of 2023. From January through March 2023, Russia imported from Uzbekistan some 44,700 tons of fruit and vegetables worth $45.2 million.
