BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 5. Uzbekistan has exported 35,600 tons of mung beans worth $26.6 million from January through March 2023, Trend reports via Uzbek State Statistics Committee.
The country’s mung bean exports in the reporting period increased by 15.6 percent, compared to the same period in 2022 (29,400 tons worth $23 million).
The largest volume of mung beans is produced in Uzbekistan’s Tashkent, Namangan, Jizzakh, and Samarkand regions.
In 2022, trade partners of Uzbekistan imported 122,400 tons of mung beans worth $93.5 million - a decrease of 8.6 percent, compared to 2021.
Uzbekistan overall during the first quarter exported 217,600 tons of fruit and vegetables, decreasing by 1.2 times or 41,400 tons, compared to the reporting period in 2022.
From January through March 2023, the main importers of Uzbek fruit and vegetables were Kazakhstan (67,900 tons), Russia (44,700 tons), China (39,600 tons), Kyrgyzstan (17,600 tons), Pakistan (12,800 tons), etc.
